MICROBLADING
Remember you are never fully dressed without your brows.
A semi-permanent technique for enhancing the appearance of the eyebrows, in which pigment is scratched into the skin in fine, short strokes resembling hair, using a hand tool with a blade formed of tiny needles.
THE PROCESS
The microblading process begins with your artist mapping out an outline of the new brow. Using measurements based on your eyes and nose, the artist will map the shape, length and width of your new brows. PLEASE NOTE: The end result of mapping will look much bolder than the final brows. The outline is drawn with a black grease marker.
After your eyebrows are mapped, a lidocaine cream is applied. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic (numbing medication) which will keep you more comfortable during the procedure. The artist will swatch pigments on your skin to customize your best color.
Your initial microblading appointment will take approximately two hours. This includes mapping, color selection and the actual process of microblading your brows. Depending on the size, thickness and amount of pre-existing hair, times will vary.
When your brows are finished, the technician will explain in detail your aftercare instructions. Healing will take approximately 4-6 weeks. Within the first five days of the healing process you will notice the most change. Pigment may leak a bit early on in the healing process making your brow appear darker than they will look after fully healing. The photos above illustrate a typical first five days of the healing process.
After your brows are fully healed 4-6 weeks from your initial appointment, you will need to schedule an appointment for a brow assessment. At this appointment your brows are analyzed for color, shape, size and thickness. If you need to make any adjustments, the artist will do it now. The photos above depict her natural brows, after her microblading appointment and at 4 weeks.
Microblading is a great option for anyone, the thickness or thinness of natural brows does not matter. See photos of before and after of clients who already had an adequate amount of brows.

B4 and AFTER CARE
Prior to procedure do not receive Botox injections two weeks before or two weeks after, including the time before and after appointment for your touch-up.
Immediately following your procedure, your technician will cleanse the area that has been treated and apply a layer of antibiotic healing balm (Neosporin), in order to protect your freshly opened layer of skin from debris and bacteria when you leave the salon. If your service was performed early in the day, start your home cleansing ritual at night, before bed, on the same day. If your procedure was done in the evening, start your home care the next morning.
TIPS
1. Do not get the area wet for five days. Be careful when showering and washing face not to get water on treated area.
2. Days 1-10. Twice daily you will cleanse the area with an anti-bacterial soap. You will then gently apply a thin layer of protective/healing balm (Vaseline or Aquaphor). To make your care easier, you can purchase the items at the salon.
3. To avoid infection and/or bald spots on the brow, it is important not to pick or rub at the pigment that may start to peel or flake, let this occur naturally.
4. Your skin and brows will need up to one month to fully heal. Touch-ups will be scheduled 4-6 weeks after you initial appointment. Remember original color will fade up to 30% while skin is healing. This is normal.
Adding eyelash extensions to your lids and/or microblading your brows are beneficial for everyone.
Both procedures will definitely boost your confidence, save time in your daily routine and enhance your natural beauty.
